One of the fashion industry's most beloved designers, Alber Elbaz has been named an Officer of the Legion of Honour, one of France's highest civilian awards. The former creative director of Lanvin was previously conferred the title of Knight of the Legion of Honour in 2006.

Apart from Alber, Axel Dumas, CEO of Hermès International, was made a Knight of the Legion of Honour too. Fellow fashion designer Agnès Troublé of Agnès b was promoted to Commander of the Order after being appointed Officer in 2009.

Back on our shores, political activist and writer Marina Mahathir will be awarded Knight of the Legion of Honour tomorrow at the Embassy of France in KL. Just last month, actress Michelle Yeoh was promoted to Officer of the Legion of Honour.
