What it is
These versatile training shoes are designed to get you through every workout – whatever that may be. Whether you're into high-intensity circuit workouts, cross training, short runs or lifting at the gym, you can count on this lightweight and flexible shoe to have your back.

Why I love it
This is easily the prettiest pair of trainers I've ever worn. Have you even seen their smoky, marbled rubber panels and that transparent Nike swoosh (so cool) done up in the prettiest shade of lilac? If you have, you'll understand my internal struggle of wanting to show them off all the time while wanting to keep them protected from the evils of wear and tear. If you're one of those who can't trust yourself with light coloured kicks, rest assured that the TR7s also come in darker options of Wolf Grey and Anthracite (a charcoal black hue).

For someone with problematic feet (read: wide and bunion riddled), these TR7s fit me comfortably. I love how they give me that spring and bounce in every step – something that I look for and prioritise in good training shoes – thanks to their flexible outsole pattern that expands and contracts, allowing natural movement. The snug, sock-like fit (achievable through a moulded cage that wraps and secures your heel in place as well as laces that provide additional midfoot support) is also great as the shoes prevent my feet from slipping during a workout.

To test them out, I took these shoes for a spin in the gym with a short 3km run on the treadmill, a low-intensity weightlifting session as well as a high-intensity bodyweight workout. These lightweight shoes did not weigh me down when I needed to go faster on my run and high-intensity workout but they still gave me the stability I needed when it came to bodyweight exercises and weightlifting, thanks to rubber pods on the outsole that improve traction, grip and stability. The breathable mesh upper also means that my feet could breathe and were not disgustingly soaked in sweat by the end of my workout. The pull-on tab on the rear of the shoe makes it easy to remove without needing to undo my laces.

The verdict
These are the shoes worth investing in if you're looking for a versatile all-rounder that will suit a variety of workouts.
