Wonder Woman's small part in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was clearly not enough, but that's okay because DC Comics fans have her standalone film to look forward to. Starring Gal Gadot as Diana Prince and Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, the Patty Jenkins-directed film tells the story of the Amazonian warrior as she joins humans in the fight for peace during the First World War.

"I feel like Diana is really accessible," Gal told Entertainment Weekly. "It's very easy to relate to her. She has the heart of a human so she can be emotional, she's curious, she's compassionate, she loves people. And then she has the powers of a goddess."

"She's all for good, she fights for good, she believes in great. I want to be her. And in Wonder Woman, she has this naiveté in her. It isn't stupid, it's magical. I would want to be naive like that again," she added.

Let's also not forget that Diana will also be recruiting superheroes into the Justice League alongside Ben Affleck's Batman on the big screens in November next year.

Wonder Woman opens in cinemas on 2 June 2017.
