Patty Jenkins has signed on to direct Wonder Woman after the Warner Bros. film's director Michelle MacLaren dropped out of the production on Monday due to creative differences. Now, instead of Game of Thrones director Michelle being the first female director to helm a big DC film, it will be Patty.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 43-year-old filmmaker almost directed Marvel's Thor: The Dark World before the job went to Alan Taylor. Patty is known for her work in the highly acclaimed docudrama Monster, in which Charlize Theron played mentally ill serial killer Aileen Wuornos.

Wonder Woman is scheduled for a 2017 release, with Gal Gadot playing the Amazonian Princess Diana.
