Another day, another movie trailer we can't get enough of. Luckily for us, there are only 16 days left before 2016 starts and we've got a long list of must-watch films to go through, including Justin Lin's Star Trek Beyond.

The plot for the film remains vague, and watching the trailer doesn't reveal much other than that Captain Kirk (Chris Pine) and his crew face the threat of a mysterious enemy. However, it makes up for the lack of information with flashes of action-packed scenes; Kirk is separated from his crew, Spock (Zachary Quinto) and Bones (Karl Urban) are cornered before Spock is beamed away, and a new character is introduced.

Although the story behind the new character played by Sofia Boutella (Kingsman: The Secret Service) hasn't been made clear either, we've got high hopes for this instalment. Star Trek Beyond opens in the US on 22 July 2016, so the Malaysian date should be sometime then, too.
