Humans are once again on the brink of extinction

The new trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse is out! Following X-Men: Days of Future Past, the upcoming Bryan Singer-directed film will focus on the younger versions of our beloved mutant characters.

The plot centres on the villain known as Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) who is the first and most powerful mutant on the planet, thanks to his ability to amass other mutant powers. After many years of suspended animation (something like cryo sleep), Apocalypse awakens in the 21st century.

Unfortunately for humankind, our modern-day era upsets him and convinces him to recruit a team of mutants which include Magneto (Michael Fassbender) to purge the world of the weak. Luckily for us, Professor X (James McAvoy) and Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) are here to lead another (younger) team of mutants to save the world.

X-Men: Apocalypse opens in local cinemas on 19 May 2016.
