Top stories: Benedict's engagement, new music and early Christmas cheer
The scoop on Benedict's fiancée, Beyoncé's got good news and fashion's holiday campaigns have us feeling festive
Let's deal with the week's biggest – and most shocking – news first: Benedict Cumberbatch is engaged. Who knew he even had a girlfriend? Die-hard Cumbercookies perhaps, but not us (oops), so we went snooping to find out who she is.
In fashion news, John Galliano faced a setback when he lost his legal case against Dior. No word yet on whether he will appeal, but he certainly has plenty else to keep him busy with his debut show at Maison Martin Margiela barely two months away.
After a frenzied and very long build-up, Alexander Wang for H&M finally arrived in stores… and promptly sold out in less than half an hour in most countries. If you missed out, don't worry – we're sure there will be another collab along shortly. Just make sure you do like some of this week's Wang fans, and start queuing 36 hours before doors open.
Christmas starts earlier and earlier each year, and fashion houses are already getting in the festive mood by releasing their holiday campaigns. We've fallen in love with Burberry's video – not just for a dancing Romeo Beckham but also for this gorgeous new model.
Speaking of campaigns, we've had our eyes glued all week to this one of David Gandy, who's modelling his own rather saucy new underwear line for Marks & Spencer, out this week.
There's loads going on in music right now. Beyoncé has confirmed that her new album will drop on 24 November, while Lorde has just released a new music video for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, which opens on 20 November. Lorde will also be curating the soundtrack to the movie. Elsewhere, Cara Delevingne gave music a shot, kind of, by starring in Die Antwoord's creepy new video.
In even more music news, Forbes released its annual list of the industry's top-earning women, which – surprise, surprise – is topped by Queen Bey (Tay-tay and Pink come in second and third).
We're psyched about cinema right now too – the trailers for Grumpy Cat's Christmas movie and the conclusion to Hobbit trilogy both dropped this week. And, for a bit of throwback nostalgia, we're super excited to see the Mean Girls and Ghostbusters gangs back in a mini reunion.
