Why you should be excited about the Samsung Galaxy S8
We see why they're calling it the "smartphone without limits"
Samsung fans rejoice; you've got a new gadget to fall in love with. The arrival of the Samsung Galaxy S8 phone, launched just a year after the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, may seem a little premature, but watch the introduction video and you'll see how many updates you have to be excited about.
The new addition to the Galaxy family comes in two versions, the 5.8-inch Galaxy S8 and 6.2-inch Galaxy S8+. Samsung is calling its latest brainchild the "smartphone without limits" and that has got a lot to do with its looks; after all, isn't that what strikes you first about a brand new phone?
Samsung kept the 'edgeless' concept you know and love from the Galaxy S8's recent predecessors, but improvements have been made to make way for the beautiful Infinity Display. That means an even slimmer bezel and no home button, making the Galaxy S8 look impossibly sleeker than the Galaxy S7 edge. It's so seamless, we can't help but call it sexy.
Forget about buying an opaque case. The Galaxy S8 comes in some beautiful colours: Midnight Black, Arctic Silver, Coral Blue and Maple Gold. Our favourite is the Orchid Gray, hands down.
The camera upgrade
The Samsung Galaxy S8 maintains the 12MP back camera of the S7 edge, but now (and you know this is important) there's an all-new 8MP selfie camera.
The security features
Now, you can swiftly unlock your screen using iris scanning and facial recognition technology, a definite step above the ol' fingerprint scanner (which you can still use, if you're the old-school type).
Siri has a new rival; the Galaxy S8 comes with Bixby, Samsung's new AI, which understands voice, text or touch. What's even more impressive is that you can use your camera to get Bixby to do a search about something you're looking at (this will come in handy when you're travelling, for example).
The other perks
Samsung Galaxy S8 owners can connect to the new Samsung Gear 360 camera to take stunning images and record videos in 4K. There's also the Samsung DeX, a dock which essentially turns the new phone into a PC.
The launch date in Malaysia
The Samsung Galaxy S8 has officially launched in other parts of the world, but will only arrive in Malaysia at the end of April. However, we hear that pre-orders will be open from 11 to 13 April 2017 on the website, so keep your eyes peeled.
