Plenty about Star Wars: The Force Awakens remains under wraps, which is expected of a cult franchise that's resurfacing after 10 years away. Not much fun in blowing all the details now when you can keep fans on their toes till it hurts, right? Right.

Set 30 years after the events in Return of the Jedi, The Force Awakens has a new generation of characters, plus a few familiar faces.

Harrison Ford reprises his role as heartthrob hero Han Solo, who is much older now of course. He is accompanied by his trusty sidekick Chewbacca, played again by the 7-feet-tall Peter Mayhew. We only get glimpses of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher), although it's obvious that the narrator in the early bits of the teaser is Luke.

John Williams is composing the film's soundtrack, which is amazing because he's the one who created the iconic themes in the first place.

Star Wars newcomers include Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac (see him fly an X-Wing at 1:07), Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Lupita Nyong'o, Gwendoline Christie, Warwick Davis, John Boyega and Daisy Ridley. Han Solo and Chewbacca make an appearance at the end of the trailer, so don't miss that gem.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in Malaysian cinemas on 17 December 2015.
