Star Wars: The Force Awakens final full trailer released
It's the return of Han Solo, Chewie's back too, the Siths are at it again and the Jedi rise
[Updated 9 November 2015] A new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer has been released in Japanese, and the two-minute video featured footage we've never seen before. There were new names, new dialogue between Rey and Finn, the return of Threepio, a close-up of Chewie's hand, and classic scenes with jet fighters flying against the sunset.
Watch it for yourself above.
This is it – the third and official full-length trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. After being teased to death with three short trailers leading up to ticket sales opening in the US today, we finally have the full shebang.
The new trailer premiered during halftime on ESPN's Monday Night Football. The last full-length trailer of J. J. Abrams' seventh Star Wars sequel debuted around five months ago, and the very first trailer was out five months before that, in late November last year.
While there's still no sign of Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker (which we're guessing they're keeping for a major ooh moment during the movie), we do get a few lines from Harrison Ford (still working it) as Han Solo. There's also a very brief shot of Carrie Fisher; we are super chuffed she's returning as Princess Leia, apparently minus donut buns. We get a longer peep at new characters Rey, Maz Kanata and Finn wielding their lightsabers, and new antagonist Kylo Ren talking to the crushed helmet of Darth Vader, saying "I will finish what you started!"
It looks FANTASTIC. Bring on the Stormtroopers, the Millenium Falcon jetting along at lightspeed and the 13-hour pre-release marathon of episodes I – VI. Watch the trailer on repeat above, and check out the poster that came out a couple days ago below. Star Wars: The Force Awakens is out here on 17 December. We can't wait.
