Both Rihanna and Cara Delevingne continue to venture outside the industries that made them famous. Rihanna, who has appeared as herself in a few films and voiced lead character Tip in DreamWorks animation flick Home, has been cast in sci-fi film Valérian and the City of a Thousand Planetstentatively slated for 2017.

Director Luc Besson announced the casting on Twitter, adding that she will have a big role to play.

Valérian and the City of a Thousand Planets is based on the French comic series Valérian et Laureline, which was created by writer Pierre Christin and artist Jean-Claude Mézières. Dane DeHaan will play Valérian, the protagonist of the comic series, while Cara plays the heroine (and Valérian's partner) Laureline. Clive Owen was also cast as Commander Arün Filitt.
