Dutch-Tunisian actor Marwan Kenzari is currently in talks to join the upcoming live-action remake of Aladdin, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He will be joining the Guy Ritchie-directed film alongside Will Smith (Genie), Mena Massoud (Aladdin), Naomi Scott (Princess Jasmine), and Nasim Pedrad (Jasmine's handmaiden).

Marwan is no newcomer; he's been in 2016's The Promise, Ben-Hur, 2017's The Mummy and he'll also be in the upcoming Murder on the Orient Express, out this November.

Disney fans are all (allllllllll) for Marwan as the cruel Jafar. People are just like, who's Aladdin? It's a whole new world in which live-action Jafar – fabulous he – is who we're rooting for. If Jafar's snake-like features in the animated film used to put you off, Marwan's here to give you a new fantastic point of view of the iconic villain.

Let's get down to business, Disney, and hire the man already. Twitter folk are thirsty.
