New Sony Cyber-shot Cameras

Fuss free, but no less spectacular photos? Consider us sold

We admit that our mobile phones are our go-to cameras most of the time, but show us a super compact camera with 20 megapixel sensor, huge zoom capacity, and on-board Wi-Fi, and you'll never get that camera back.

As far as compact cameras go, Sony knocks it out of the park with the 20.4-megapixel Cyber-shot HX60V and 18.2-megapixel WX350 cameras, which are bound to go into our to-pack list for vacations, parties, and pretty much anywhere really, since we won't be short of an excuse to snap away.

The HX60V and WX350 sport a 30x and 20x optical zoom respectively, so although you're not close enough to the concert stage, you're pretty much set for fab photos of the performers if you have one of these babies in tow. Straightforward functions mean that your perfect shot is only a simple setting away. We already hear cheers from beginners.

What really got us excited (apart from the fact that the WX350 is also available in pink) is the Optical SteadyShot image stabilisation system, which translates to stable movie footage and wobble-free photos, even whilst giggling madly.

If even that isn't enough for you, Sony knows better than to deny you a super-zoom camera. How does a 50x optical zoom sound? The Cyber-shot HX400V may not be as svelte as its siblings, but if you're willing to give up a little more space in your bag, 20.4 megapixels, cool DSLR-handling, Optical SteadyShot, and Full HD video recording should be enough to persuade any eager shutterbug.

All three cameras have in-built WiFi functions so transferring photographs onto our smartphone and tablet (what else for if not to share on various social media platforms?) will be a breeze.

The Cyber-shot HX60V, WX350, and HX400V will be available in Malaysia from April 2014.
