This is our country's first World Championship women's team gold medal in ten years
After ten long years since their last win, the Malaysian women's bowling team has bagged a gold medal at the World Championships!
The five-woman team consisting of Shalin Zulkifli, Siti Safiyah Amirah Abdul Rahman, Sin Li Jane, Natasha Roslan and Syaidatul Afifah Badrul Hamidi beat Singapore in the finals at the South Point Bowling Centre in Las Vegas on Sunday.
This marks the Malaysian team's third gold at the championships after winning in 2003 (Kuala Lumpur) and 2007 (Monterrey, Mexico). Malaysian prime minister Najib Razak tweeted a congratulatory message to the team.
