Malaysian women's artistic gymnastics team defends SEA Games gold
The women's artistic team bagged first place for the second time in a row
For the second SEA Games in a row, the Malaysian women's artistic gymnastics team won gold yesterday, beating Singapore and Indonesia.
Farah Ann Abdul Hadi, Lavinia Michelle Raymund Jayadev, Tan Ing Yueh, Tracie Ang and Nur Eli Ellina Azmi all returned this year to compete for Malaysia, with newcomer Nur Azira Aziri. They accumulated 200.950 points ahead of Singapore's 190.050 and Indonesia's 186.850 points.
Malaysia broke Singapore's winning streak in 2015 – the latter team held the title since 2005. This year, Singapore competed with one member short after 16-year-old Tan Sze En hurt her ankle during a training session last week.
