We all know Leonardo DiCaprio is no stranger to playing huge roles in huge films. Famously, he has never won an Oscar, but we think it might be damn time, and The Revenant just might be The One to do it. Fingers crossed!

Leo plays legendary explorer Hugh Glass, who goes on an expedition to the uncharted American wilderness and gets attacked by a bear. He is then left for dead by his own team members and is even betrayed by his confidant John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy). Nonetheless, Hugh continues his journey as he survives on will power and his love for his family, on the quest to find redemption.

The Revenant is based on a true story and is directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu who also directed Birdman and Babel. In addition to Leo and Tom, Domhnall Gleeson and Will Poulter join the cast as Andrew Henry and Jim Bridger.

The film is set for US release on Christmas Day, however there is no news as to when (or if) it will come to Malaysian cinemas. We'll keep you updated!
