Lady Violet Crawley's home is up for sale
Byfleet Manor, the home of Maggie Smith's 'Downton Abbey' character Lady Violet Crawley is being listed for £3.95 million
If anyone who loves the English countryside has over RM20 million to spend on anything, this is where they'll want to put that money. Byfleet Manor, the home of the witty Dowager Countess of Grantham Lady Violet Crawley (played by Maggie Smith) in Downton Abbey has been put up for sale.
With Downton nearing its finale – the series' sixth season will officially be its last – current owner Julie Hutton decided to list her 6,000 square-feet 17th-century mansion in Surrey for £3.95 million (approx. RM22.3 million). To sweeten the deal, the eight-bedroom residence comes with 19 acres of land.
The Daily Mail reports that Julie bought the house over 10 years ago for £1 million, and had renovations done before it was later scouted by Downton Abbey producers as a filming location.
