Little known fact about Keira Knightley: she sings. The Chanel beauty's talent is proven here in a lyrics and movie-montage mashup for Lost Stars, a song from romantic comedy-drama Begin Again, which also stars Mark Ruffalo, Adam Levine, and CeeLo Green.

We're used to her speaking voice – which you must admit can be quite animated and um, shrill – but man oh man, Keira is a songbird in this.

Directed by John Carney, Begin Again centres on Gretta (Keira) whose boyfriend and song-writing partner Dave (Adam Levine) drifts further from her as fame catches up with him. Alone and lovelorn, Gretta is soon discovered by has-been record exec Dan (Mark Ruffalo) who convinces her to work with him on what becomes a beautiful musical collaboration.

"The city is our studio," Dave says. Try containing your sigh after that little quip.

Watch Maroon 5 frontman Adam perform the same song in the film's second trailer.
