Jude Law will play young Albus Dumbledore in 'Fantastic Beasts' sequel
From young pope to young Dumbledore
Academy Award nominee Jude Law will play young Albus Dumbledore in the upcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them sequel!
"Jude Law is a phenomenally talented actor whose work I've long admired and I'm looking forward to finally having the opportunity to work with him," said director David Yates, who also helmed four Harry Potter films, as well as the first Fantastic Beasts. "I know he will brilliantly capture all the unexpected facets of Albus Dumbledore as J.K. Rowling reveals this very different time in his life."
The sequel will feature Dumbledore during his tenure as Hogwarts' Transfiguration professor, decades before he becomes Headmaster at the wizarding school. There's a chance that we'll also be seeing Gellert Grindelwald – the character played by Johnny Depp in the first Fantastic Beasts film.
Filming begins this summer and the sequel is slated for a release on 16 November 2018.
