Harry Potter Theme Park To Open In Universal Studios Japan
The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter will debut at the Osaka theme park sometime in 2014
The Harry Potter film series released its last instalment in 2011, but the worldwide Potter crusade has only just begun, and it will soon reach Japan. We were very, very pleased to learn that The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will be brought to life on this side of the globe on 15 July 2014.
Universal Studios Japan and Warner Bros. had announced in 2012 that the theme park will be brought to Osaka to add to its existing Universal's Islands of Adventure counterpart. Soon to be added to the family is a brand new park in Universal Studios Hollywood in 2016 as well as the addition of Diagon Alley and the Hogwarts Express train to Universal Studios Florida this summer.
An announcement event for the Osaka theme park was attended by the Japanese Prime Minister Shinjo Abe, and actress Evanna Lynch, who played Luna Lovegood in the film series.
With the upcoming theme park much closer to home, we're already starting to plan a trip – or two – to Osaka later this year. Not forgetting that Warner Bros. is planning on making films based on JK Rowling's Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them book, these next few years are going to be magical.
