Han Solo standalone film cast gather for their first family photo
Of course, Emilia Clarke has the widest smile of all
Star Wars fans around the world have another film release to be excited about. Principal photography of the untitled Han Solo film has kicked off at London's Pinewood Studios. To celebrate the moment, Lucasfilms released the first photo of some of the cast and crew.
Clockwise from bottom left, they are co-director Christopher Miller, Woody Harrelson, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Alden Ehrenreich (Han Solo), Emilia Clarke, Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca, co-director Phil Lord, and Donald Glover (Lando Calrissian).
The standalone film explores Han and Chewie's adventures before Star Wars: A New Hope takes place.
"Watching such inspired people from all over the world, with such unique voices, come together for the sole purpose of making art, is nothing short of miraculous," co-directors Lord and Miller said. "We can't think of anything funny to say, because we just feel really moved, and really lucky."
The untitled Han Solo film is slated for a release in May 2018.
