It's been 13 years since R&B singer Aaliyah left us and her influence on the music industry is still felt.

With hits such as One in A Million, Are You That Somebody? and Try Again, Lifetime channel has produced and released the first teaser of Aaliyah's biography film titled Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B, in order to celebrate Aaliyah's success over the years before her death in an airplane crash. The movie will be based on the book Aaliyah: More Than a Woman by Christopher Farley.

23-year-old actress, Alexandra Shipp was chosen to channel the singer right after actress Zendaya dropped out from the role. In the teaser, Alexandra moves her body in baggy camouflage pants with a peep of her underwear, Timberland boots, sports bra and an oversized denim jacket – a look Aaliyah once mastered. The movie will be out November 15.
