Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them made a great start to the adventures of Newt Scamander. The upcoming sequel, scheduled for November 2018, has begun filming and will see the return of Eddie Redmayne as the magizoologist. Here's what else we learned from Warner Bros. Pictures' announcement.

No-Maj Jacob Kowalski is back
Jacob (Dan Fogler) had his memory wiped at the end of Fantastic Beasts, but hopefully he'll reunite with his gang of magical friends. Katherine Waterson and Alison Sudol star as Goldstein sisters Tina and Queenie; here's hoping the Jacob/Queenie love story gets another chance!

What is Newt up to?
Newt and company will be swept from New York to London and Paris, and there will also be "surprising nods to the Harry Potter stories that will delight fans of the books and film series." Exciting!

Where is Gellert Grindelwald?
Fantastic Beasts 2 is set a few months after the events of the first film, and "Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) has made a dramatic escape." Uh oh.

Enter Albus Dumbledore
Making his first appearance in the franchise is Jude Law, who will play the famous Hogwarts teacher (and later, headmaster) and ultimate defeater of his estranged friend Grindelwald.

New names, old names
Ezra Miller returns as Credence, whose fate was left uncertain. Zoë Kravitz will feature again as Leta Lestrange, a woman from Newt's past, seen only in a photograph so far. War & Peace actor and Burberry model Callum Turner will play Theseus Scamander, Newt's older brother and Auror – if you recall, people call him a "war hero."

Former ELLE cover girl Claudia Kim plays a young woman who stars as a wizarding circus attraction. The cast also includes William Nadylam (Yusuf Kama, wizard), Ingvar Sigurdsson (Grimmson, bounty hunter) and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (Skender, who runs the wizarding circus).

There's danger ahead
"Dumbledore will need help from the wizard who had thwarted Grindelwald once before, his former student Newt Scamander," the announcement reads. "The adventure reunites Newt with Tina, Queenie and Jacob, but his mission will also test their loyalties as they face new perils in an increasingly dangerous and divided wizarding world."

J.K. Rowling wrote the screenplay and David Yates will direct. Fantastic Beasts 2 isn't the final name – we can't wait to see what's in store.
