Emma Stone sings in new 'La La Land' teaser

Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling reunite for what looks like their most romantic movie yet

The Notebook has a rival (just saying, it only struck us because Ryan Gosling is dreamier than ever in this one). La La Land couldn't be more overt with its title; it's a musical rom-com drama that also stars Emma Stone, who sings an original song from the film in the new teaser.

Set in Los Angeles, La La Land follows the story of Mia and Sebastian, who meet and fall in love. Both are struggling in their own careers – Mia is an aspiring actress who is also (surprise!) a waitress and Sebastian is a small-time jazz pianist.

Emma and Ryan haven't worked with each other since 2013 action thriller Gangster Squad, and played each other's love interests in Crazy, Stupid Love in 2011. Was a musical film imminent? (Emma reinforced her musical abilities as Sally Bowles on Broadway, mind you.) Yes.

From the teaser, we are also treated to a few date ideas. They're a little cheesy, but oh come on, when's the last time any of us had a bit of fun deliberately re-enacting Hollywood-worthy moments? And with Emma and Ryan's chemistry, whoever isn't sold must be crazy.

Idea #1: Visit an observatory, pretend you're floating around together.

Idea #2: Get dressed up, go dancing. Like ballroom dancing (or the amateur equivalent).

Idea #3: Cook and surprise the other person with a quiet dinner for two.

Idea #4: Ride a funicular railway.

It's also important to note who directed the film: Damien Chazelle, the man responsible for the super intense multi Academy Award-winning Whiplash and highly acclaimed 10 Cloverfield Lane. We've nothing but great expectations for La La Land.

PS. After being serenaded by Emma, we're also succeeding in getting over her and ex-boyfriend Andrew Garfield's surprise appearance together (but seriously, stop playing with our feelings, you two).
