Elton John to write 'The Devil Wears Prada' Broadway musical
A million girls (us included!) would kill to see this live
Get excited, because Miranda Priestly's signature phrase, "That's all," might soon be a catchy jingle. Yes, Lauren Weisberger's best-selling book-to-box-office hit The Devil Wears Prada is being turned into a Broadway musical, with none other than Elton John penning the tunes.
"Reimagining The Devil Wears Prada for the musical theatre is super exciting," Elton said. "I'm a huge fan of both the book and the feature film and a huge aficionado of the fashion world. I can't wait to sink my musical teeth into this hunk of popular culture."
This is not Elton's first time penning for Broadway. He also composed Disney smash The Lion King, as well as the Tony-winning Billy Elliot adaptation. Elton will be joined by Paul Rudnick, who's responsible for stage hits like Sister Act and I Hate Hamlet.
Meanwhile, sit back and start pondering who will play the two key roles. It's hared to imagine anyone other than Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway in them, right? And we know they both love to sing and dance. Perhaps it's time for the two to make a reunion on Broadway?
