Anne Hathaway is the boss of Robert De Niro in 'The Intern'
Not to be confused with 'The Internship'
From the wide-eyed, fashion-inept Andy Sachs in The Devil Wears Prada to the founder and CEO of a fashion e-commerce company in The Intern... by this point, Anne Hathaway has enough experience to get a job in fashion in the real world.
In her new movie, the Academy Award-winning actress plays Jules Ostin, who takes on an intern through her company's new Senior Intern Programme. Robert De Niro plays 70-year-old retiree Ben Whittaker, who is hired as an intern and, despite his obvious demographic difference in the young(er) upbeat office, manages to charm his co-workers.
"I've been a fan of his for such a long time and was so excited to work with him," Anne, 32, told People. "All of us on set were really awed by him but he's so sweet and unassuming, and a little goofy, that we all relaxed eventually."
Ben eventually becomes what Jules calls her "intern slash best friend," so we can guess we've got a heart-warming flick coming. Add that to the fact that Nancy Meyers directed, wrote and produced it (which means we are also in for some stunning interiors to admire). If you are familiar with any one of her work – Something's Gotta Give, The Holiday, The Parent Trap and Father of the Bride among them – you'll also guess the same.
Adam DeVine (Pitch Perfect) and Andrew Rannells (Broadway's The Book of Mormon) co-star in The Intern, which opens in the US in September 2015. The film will open in Malaysian cinemas on 24 September 2015.
