Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were great together in the 2005 film Mr and Mrs Smith and we've been hoping we'd see them star in a movie together again. Thanks to Angie, our wish has been granted.

This new film called By the Sea is directed and written by Angie herself. She also stars in the movie alongside her husband Brad. The duo play an estranged couple travelling through France in the 1970s. Clearly, the two hate each other here and it's painful to watch as they argue and cry. It was especially hard for Angie who had to direct the emotional scenes.

"I'd be directing myself and him in a scene where we're having a fight, and I'd be pulling out the parts of him that have an aggression toward me or when you're frustrated with each other – it was very heavy," said Angie in an interview with the Directors Guild of America (DGA).

"We're proud of ourselves for being brave enough to try it," she said adding that the film was made on her honeymoon with Brad. "I think By the Sea was the hardest film for me because it wasn't [issue-driven]. It's something I probably won't do very much of."

By the Sea opens in cinemas overseas on 13 November. We may or may not get it here but we'll keep you updated.
