In case anyone forgot, the American Idol judges are performers too. Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban are a team in more ways than just being behind the table, evaluating contestants. Before crowning the new Idol Nick Fradiani, the trio sang Rihanna's Diamonds and Bruno Mars' Locked Out of Heaven for the 14th season's finale.

The band consisted of Jennifer on vocals, Keith on the guitar and Harry on the piano. We reckon Harry should have stuck to his keyboard (on which he played a small solo) instead of the piano. Trying to rock out, standing up and playing the grand at same time just, er, didn't really match the dazzle, plenty of which we'll attribute to JLo's dress.

The rest of finale night was packed with performances – Ricky Martin, Echosmith, Fall Out Boy, New Kids On The Block, Steven Tyler and the eliminated season 14 contestants were among them – which makes us think the 15th and final season's closing show will be even bigger. Who knows, maybe they'll even bring back Idol's past 14 winners to perform too?
