All-female 'Ghostbusters' film is a go
Both director and writer of 'The Heat' join the reboot of the supernatural comedy film
The Heat buddies – nope, we don't mean Sandra and Melissa – Paul Feig and Katie Dippold are set to respectively direct and pen the script for the third installment of Ghostbusters. Both boast experience in comedy; other than The Heat, Paul also directed 2011 rom-com, Bridesmaids, while Katie has written several episodes of NBC's Parks and Recreation.
The reboot will feature a new generation of parapsychologists, but with a twist. Ghostbusters will be an all-girls team. As for who will be cast as the famous ghost catchers, all Paul had to say was this:
It's official. I'm making a new Ghostbusters & writing it with @katiedippold & yes, it will star hilarious women. That's who I'm gonna call.— Paul Feig (@paulfeig) October 8, 2014
"Hilarious women." So considering Paul and Katie's credits, is it too much to hope that these women will include Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids), Melissa McCarthy (The Heat, Bridesmaids), Sandra Bullock (The Heat) and Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation)?
