Why it's special
You know that feeling when you're deciding where to hang out and everyone in the group chat replies, "I don't know"? Well, this new watering hole in Bangsar spins that annoying response to its favour.
Founded less than 4 months ago, I Don't Know bar is located on the discreet row of shops near the Bangsar LRT station. Leafy plants, stacked crates and red lanterns dot the alfresco entrance while the interior boasts graffiti walls, displaying cheeky quotes. While the decor might be simple, its RM30 cocktail selection, fairly-priced bar bites menu and laidback feel definitely ups the ante.
What to drink
Beers range from RM10 to no more than RM20, making it a more-than-reasonable hangout spot. Cocktail lovers sampling the bar's signature I Don't Know concoction (RM30 and made of rum, cointreau, peach liqueur, fresh lime juice, basil, strawberry puree, orange bitters and egg white), will be pleased to find that it tastes very much like your childhood Cola sweet. For something more refreshing, try the Desert Rose (RM30), crafted from gin, lychee liqueur and fresh grapefruit juice.
What to eat
I Don't Know is still working on an in-house kitchen but for now, the bar offers bar bites cooked in the neighbouring restaurant. The menu puts an Asian twist on snacks with options like salted egg calamari with aioli (RM25 nett) and sambal terung with bread (RM15 nett).
Kicking back and catching the sunset with some after-work/weekend drinks.
Happy hour specials are available all-day like two flavoured martinis for RM30 nett and 10 Carlsberg mugs for RM100 nett.
