Gigi Hadid's burger wins her the 'MasterChef Celebrity Showdown'
The model will donate her US$25,000 prize money to the Global Lyme Alliance
[Updated 20 January 2016] Gigi Hadid won the challenge! Her winning dish was a "beef patty with pickled jalapeños and a spiced 'crispy onion nest' with potato crisps on the side." Yes, a burger. That does sound very yummy! According to the Daily Mail, she spent every week of a year in New York, eating different burgers.
"I always say, eat clean to stay fit, have a burger to stay sane," she told judges Gordon Ramsay and Christina Tosi.
Her winnings of $25,000 for the Global Lyme Alliance got her teary eyed too as she shared "My mum, sister and brother are all affected by Lyme disease. Not enough people know what Lyme disease is and the dangers of being bitten by an insect."
On a happier note, congratulations Gigi!
She will be going up against Devon Windsor as they compete to raise $25,000 (approx. RM110,200) for respective charities Global Lyme Alliance and St Louis Children's Hospital.
Besides having made truffle risotto for her family one Christmas, she has previously mentioned her wish to have a cooking show earlier last year.
"I know that I won't be modelling forever but I think I'll be in the entertainment industry," she said. "I would love to host a talk show one day, or have a cooking show. I love to cook." If her Instagram feed is any indication, we're pretty sure Gigi is going to ace this culinary test.
MasterChef Celebrity Showdown airs on Monday in the USA on Fox, fingers crossed we'll get it tomorrow.
