Brace yourselves and prepare the tissues – a trailer for Spike TV's Heath Ledger documentary has been released. In conjunction with the late actor's birthday earlier this week (he would've turned 38 this year), the American cable channel posted the heartbreaking I Am Heath Ledger trailer that includes intimate self-shot footage of Heath, as well as heartfelt interviews with loved ones and industry friends.

Clearly, the late actor, who passed away in 2008 from an accidental mixture of prescription drugs, has made a lasting impression on a lot of people.

"Even as a supporting actor, he will steal the whole show," Brokeback Mountain director Ang Lee said. "That's the power of Heath Ledger."

From his early days in 10 Things I Hate About You and A Knight's Tale to his Oscar-nominated role in Brokeback Mountain and the acclaimed The Dark Knight, Heath oozed star power – even his cheekily grinning self-shot footage shows an actor that was clearly gone too soon.

I Am Heath Ledger will show at the Tribeca Film Festival on 23 April 2017 and premiere worldwide on Spike TV on May 17 – best start figuring out how to tune in to this one.
