Tributes to David Bowie pour in
As the world reels from the news of his death, some 4.3 million tweets dedicated to his memory flood the Internet
Millions of tributes to David Bowie from around the world have poured in, praising his legacy and remembering what he did for generations of people. According to the Daily Mail, everyone from celebs to world leaders, the Vatican and astronauts contributed to the torrent of 20,000 tweets per minute.
Instead of focusing on how he died and the ordeal he endured, we're going to leave this here as a demonstration of the sheer reach and impact Bowie has (and will always have) over the world. Lorde's tribute was so moving, we covered it separately. As Tony Visconti, Bowie's longtime producer, put it: "He wanted to do it his way and he wanted to do it the best way. His death was no different from his life – a work of Art."
Ashes to ashes, stardust to stardust – immortal in our lives.
