Tali Lennox survives kayaking accident

She was rescued but her boyfriend remains missing

[Updated 12 August 2015] Police have confirmed that the body found in the Hudson River earlier this week belongs to Ian Jones. People reports that he had not been under the influence of alcohol and he passed away from drowning. 


Tali Lennox, the 22-year-old model-turned-artist and daughter of award-winning musician Annie Lennox, survived a terrible kayaking accident when the kayak capsized and forced her into the Hudson River in New York on Saturday.

Tali was with her boyfriend Ian Jones at the time and, although she was pulled to safety into a nearby boat, Ian, however, did not share the same luck. He has been missing since the accident.

"We believe that alcohol may have played a role," said Captain John Watterson from the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office. "The current in the Hudson River is very strong and we believe the current played a role in the kayak capsizing, and once the two got in the water, it was difficult for them to stay together."

"We're doing everything we can to find him. We hope to find him alive and well," he added. CNN reports that the search is still ongoing and they have yet to locate Ian. We really hope he will be found soon.
