Sofia Vergara and ex Nick Loeb talk about embryo battle
The fight is on
Sofia Vergara went on Good Morning America on Thursday to promote her new film, Hot Pursuit, and ended up discussing her problems with her ex, American businessman Nick Loeb, who is attempting to obtain rights to the frozen embryos they created using in vitro fertilization when they were a couple. "I promote all my movies, all my work, but I don't like promoting my private life," the actress said. "And I don't want to allow this person to take more advantage of my career and try to promote himself and get press for this."
Meanwhile, over at competing morning show Today, Nick defended himself by saying "It has nothing to do with whether it's her baby or a baby. Lives were already created... I wouldn't toss them aside." When host Hoda Kotb asked if he's doing this for financial reasons, Nick said that he has in fact asked Sofia to waive all financial responsibilities.
In Sofia's defence, who really wants to make a baby with their ex? Also, in an interview with Howard Stern, the actress noted that a child "needs a loving relationship of parents that get along, that don't hate each other."
It looks like it's about to get really ugly for these two, but let's see if the embryo issue dies down once Sofia is done promoting her new film.
