Siti Nurhaliza on her miscarriage: "I need to be more careful next time"
The singer intended to announce her pregnancy on her 37th birthday
Siti Nurhaliza and her husband Datuk Seri Khalid Jiwa planned to announce her pregnancy today, her 37th birthday, but she suffered a miscarriage early last month. However, the singer is no less thankful for what she has received.
"Allah knows best. I have accepted the miscarriage with an open heart," Siti told Mingguan Malaysia, and added that she was lucky enough to be pregnant in the first place. "It gives us hope that we'll have our own children in the future, but it will depend on our fortune."
"All of this was already predetermined. Perhaps even during the moment I received the good news about my pregnancy, I was being tested by Allah. Sometimes we feel that this is best, but Allah knows what's better for us," she said.
Siti takes her short pregnancy as a sign that there is still hope for her to become a mother, and her career will take a backseat to her dreams of building a family of her own.
"I need to be more careful next time," she explained. "I won't be stepping back completely [from work], but I won't be doing big concerts and will only take on performances that won't require too much preparation."
