Seohyun, Tiffany and Sooyoung to leave Girls' Generation?
The K-pop band will not disband, despite three members reportedly going their separate ways
"The three members decided to terminate their contracts with the agency," a source told Yonhap News. "Although Girls' Generation will stay afloat, it would be difficult in practical terms for those members to remain in the team when they sign up with a different management agency. I understand the members are still discussing the matter."
According to Yonhap News, Tiffany will further her studies in the United States, while Seohyun and Sooyoung will pursue their acting careers. Neither SM Entertainment (their management company) nor the girls have confirmed the news, but the following statement was released by the former (translated from Korean by Soompi), asserting that Girls' Generation will not disband.
Girls' Generation is a group that is precious and meaningful to SM and their fans. The members also have no thoughts at all about disbanding. Simply, as there are members whose contracts have ended, a careful decision will be made after discussions with the members about Girls' Generation's direction for activities in the future.
The band started out with nine girls; Jessica Jung was the first to leave in 2014.
