Selena Gomez slams Justin Bieber: "Don't be mad at your fans"
The exes butt heads on Instagram as Justin calls out fans for hating on his rumoured girlfriend Sofia Richie
Here's how the story goes. Justin Bieber and Sofia Richie, who are rumoured to be dating, posted photos of them together in Japan on social media. Fans (particularly those who still can't get over #Jelena) reacted, rather unnecessarily with hateful and rude comments.
Justin was understandably upset about this and wrote a response in one of his captions: "I'm gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don't stop the hate this is getting out of hand, if you guys are really fans you wouldn't be so mean to people that I like."
Ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez didn't agree with how Justin was handling the situation.
"If you can't handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol – it should be special between you two only," she wrote. "Don't be mad at your fans. They love you. They were there for you before anyone."
More screenshots recorded the following replies from Justin.
"It's funny to see people that used me for attention and still try to point the finger this way. Sad. All love," the 22-year-old said. "I'm not the one for anyone receiving hate. Hope u all can be kind to my friends and each other. And yes I love my beliebers."
While some fans were also outraged at Justin's threats, calling him ungrateful and claiming that he owes them for his fame, others were happy for him and urged fellow Beliebers to be supportive of the singer's new relationship. After all, isn't that what true fans would do?
And then there was that one fan who had to inject some perspective into the conversation.
