Selena Gomez releases a new song about her on and off relationship
And Keira Knightley takes a stand against edited pictures, Katy Perry is a lonely Cheeto and Rachel Bilson gives birth
Selena Gomez's new single is kind of heartbreaking
Selena Gomez's singles are catchy but we wouldn't say songs like Come and Get It or Love You Like A Love Song are known for their depth. But maybe the singer is ready for a more grown-up style, because her new single, The Heart Wants What It Wants, details her on-off relationship with a troubled bad boy (cough, Justin, cough, Bieber) in a way that has us all cut up.
The music video, which is filmed entirely in black and white, starts with Selena speaking. "When I was on stage and I was thinking of…" she says. "I know him though, and I know that I know his heart, and I know what he wouldn't do to hurt me. But I didn't realise that I'm feeling so confident and feeling so great about myself and then it just can be completely shattered by one thing... by something so stupid. But then you make me feel crazy, you make me feel like it's my fault. I was in pain."
Though the song is straightforward, the emotions she's expressing are universal, which makes it powerful. But why does the dude in the video look more like Orlando Bloom than Justin? A pay back for when Justin was messing with Orlando few months ago? Ooh. Watch the clip below.
Katy Perry sings 'All by Myself' dressed as a Cheeto
Katy Perry is all about being random and quirky, so when the Dark Horse singer decided to dress up as a Cheeto for Halloween, we weren't really surprised. It's just a very Katy Perry thing to do.
With a costume like that, we'd have thought Katy would have for sure got lucky on Halloween. But it turns out she actually spent the rest of the night with her teddy bear at home singing All By Myself while still wearing her Cheeto costume. Where is her rumoured boyfriend, Diplo, when a Cheeto is sad and needs a cuddle?
Keira Knightley protests the use of Photoshop
A lot of celebrities are not happy with their pictures being given unrealistic Photoshop touch ups these days, and the latest to protest against the practice is Keira Knightley.
Keira has had several run ins with overzealous Photoshoppers, most notably back in 2004 when her breast was modified and enlarged on the King Arthur movie poster. “I think women’s bodies are a battleground and photography is partly to blame. Our society is so photographic now, it becomes more difficult to see all of those different varieties of shape," she said. To fight back, Keira appeared topless in Interview magazine only once they agreed to not Photoshop her pictures.
She told The Times newspaper: "I’ve had my body manipulated so many different times for so many different reasons, whether it’s paparazzi photographers or for film posters. That [shoot] was one of the ones where I said: ‘Okay, I’m fine doing the topless shot so long as you don’t make them any bigger or retouch.’ Because it does feel important to say it really doesn’t matter what shape you are."
Rachel Bilson gives birth to baby girl
Nine months after Valentine's Day and celebrity babies are popping out left and right. This time, Rachel Bilson and boyfriend Hayden Christensen have had a baby girl! And it seems that the parents are big Disney fans because they decided to name her Briar Rose, the name of a Disney princess and a character from a Grimm Brothers fairy tale written in 1812. That's cute. Congratulations, Rachel and Hayden!
