It’s been a good start to the year for Sandra Bullock, who swept up three big awards at the People’s Choice Awards yesterday.

A clear winner among the people, Sandra outdid fellow nominees Gwyneth Paltrow, Halle Berry and Scarlett Johanssen to take home the awards for Favorite Movie Actress, Favorite Comedic Movie Actress and Favorite Dramatic Movie Actress.

On top of these solo awards, Sandra also picked up Favorite Movie Duo with George Clooney for Gravity while Gravity itself was voted as the people’s Favorite Drama Movie, beating other popular 2013 blockbusters such as The Great Gatsby and Lee Daniels’ The Butler.

Dressed in a floral Peter Pilotto dress with popped-up yellow Kurt Geiger pumps and a sleek Jimmy Choo clutch, Sandra also scored big in style points, standing out as one of the evening’s red carpet favourites.

As we go into all the other awards events, we can’t wait to see what else is in store for Sandra who’s already up for a Golden Globe, nominated for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for her out-of-this-world performance in Gravity. And if you haven’t already watched this super spacey flick, we highly recommend it – watch it high definition with the lights off and the air-conditioning turned up high for extra ambient effect.

In music, Katy Perry rose well above the votes to win Favorite Song and Favorite Music Video, both for her chart-topping single Roar, Ariana Grande was chosen as the year’s Favorite Breakout Artist and Demi Lovato beat all other musical starlets to win Favorite Female Artist. It’s been a good run for girl power.
