Samantha Schubert dies at 47
The former Miss Malaysia model passed away from pancreatic cancer yesterday
After months of fighting for her life, Samantha Schubert died of pancreatic cancer at the Prince Court Medical Centre in Kuala Lumpur yesterday. The former model and Miss Malaysia 1991, who turned 47 last Saturday, was known for her roles in The Red Kebaya (2006), Amok (1997) and Scorpion 2 (1994).
Samantha was first diagnosed with the illness back in August 2015 but she remained positive and did not give up her fight until the very end.
Samantha and her husband Oliver Knott share three children together, Thomas, 7, Harry, 10, and Jodie, 12. Marina Mahathir and close friends Tiara Jacquelina and Elaine Daly were among those who took to social media to remember the late actress.
Rest in peace, Samantha.
My dear friend, the beautiful Samantha Schubert (from the movie Red Kebaya), has gone to be with the angels, just minutes ago. Samantha was one of the members of the Kit Kat Klub show, and could dance to Paula Abdul's Straight Up like nobody else could. Rest well, laugh and keep dancing dear Sam. I'll miss the friendship we shared since we were young, free and single. May your strength live on in the beautiful children you raised. Love you Sam.. and I'm really going to miss you. 💔 #RiPsamanthaschubert
