Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's jeans styling rules
The supermodel on being the face of Paige denim and her love for jeans
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley knows how to style a pair of jeans: she's been papped in every kind – skinny, cropped, ripped – and every time, she carries off the look impeccably. Which makes her a bit of a denim fashion icon, probably the reason why Paige Adams-Geller, founder of Paige denim, has chosen Rosie to star in their ad campaigns. At the opening of their newly redesigned SoHo store in NYC, Rosie spilled her denim rules to ELLE.com.
Her love for Paige denim
"I've been wearing Paige now for six or seven years. I remember I had to do a press day for another brand and I had to wear white jeans, which of course puts the dread in every woman across the board. A friend of mine called in some white jeans from Paige and said they're the best brand coming out of L.A."

How jeans are part of her personal style
"To me, it's like you want a pair of jeans to be the first and the last thing that you think about. Does that make sense? It's like it's the most basic part of your outfit, but it's the last thing that you want to have to worry about. That's why I think denim is such a true staple in a woman's wardrobe. You want to find something that works on the go, that can take you from day to night, something that's smart and casual at the same time. For instance, the flares look so great. I wore them to the airport today."
Her tips for styling jeans
"I guess one of the most important things when I'm looking for a pair of jeans is that I can wear it in multiple different ways. I can wear them out to brunch and I can wear them to work. Versatility is definitely one thing that I'm always thinking about. A pair of jeans is an investment–and it should be–and like I said, it should be the first and the last thing you think about in your closet. It's all about living in them."
Her fave pair of Paige jeans
"I really love Paige's Edgemont because I think that they have the right amount of edge and rock chic, but they feel smart at the same time. I love black denim. I just think black denim is the most versatile. It's the most flattering. And with a white T-shirt on it's classic in the day, and then you can put a little sexy camisole on and rock it out for dinner."
Her off-duty days
"I am traveling constantly so, for me, a great day off would just be about being at home with people that I love. I wake up; I love to go out for breakfast. That's one of my favorite things."

Her partnership with Paige
"It's been great for me. It's not every day that you get to be part of a brand that really wants to hear what you have to say, takes that on board, and is interested and inspired by what you have to say. I think for me, I've been around, I've been modeling for thirteen years, and I do have something to say! I love doing what I do, so to get to co-creative direct the campaign and visual of how it's going to look and decide on the location, the styling, the team, the photographer, and really talk about the set and the attitude, is something that I think just makes the end result so much more meaningful. That doesn't happen at all, ever, with fashion. It's very rare."
Her and Paige's go-to Karaoke song
"I'll sing basically anything [laughs]. It might be easier to ask me what isn't my karaoke song…but George Michael. Yeah, I love anything by George Michael. Careless Whisper!"
