Rihanna purchases trademark for her name
The singer's latest move to trademark her family name hints at potential venture into many fashion and beauty lines
Okay 'fess up; how many of you can remember Rihanna's family name without Googling it? We'll leave the singer's diehard fans out of this, but for the rest of you who can't, it's Fenty. It's likely that we'll be seeing a lot of that name in time to come since Rihanna's only gone and bought the trademark for it.
Rihanna has done plenty in the music, fashion, and beauty industry already, but that doesn't mean that she's slowing down anytime soon. Recent trademark documents show that the Barbadian hitmaker and frequent high fashion collaborator and filed her surname under segments like cosmetics, intimates, nails, swimwear, and apparel.
It's either RiRi is looking to explore these industries soon, or she just doesn't want anyone cashing out on her family name. We won't pretend to know her many whimsies, but we doubt it's the latter. On that note, we wouldn't be sure how to feel if she made more naked dresses, but there'll be no complaints if she starts one helluva makeup brand.
