Peaches Geldof Dies
The 25-year-old model, presenter and writer was found dead in her home in Kent, England
[Updated July 24, 2014] A coroner has ruled that Peaches Geldof died of a heroin overdose.
Peaches Geldof, 25 was found dead on Monday 7 April in her home in Kent. Her death is currently being treated as ‘unexplained and sudden’ police said to the BBC.
Peaches was the second daughter to Bob Geldof and the late Paula Yates. She was only 11 when her mother died of an accidental drug overdose.
The writer and TV presenter leaves behind her husband musician Thomas Cohen and two sons, Astala Dylan Willow, 23 months and Phaedra Bloom Forever, who will turn one later this month.
In a statement husband Thomas said, "My beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and her two sons. I shall bring them up with their mother in their hearts everyday. We shall love her forever."
Bob Geldof’s statement said, "Peaches has died. We are beyond pain. She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us. Writing ‘was’ destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever. How sad that sentence is. Tom and her sons Astala and Phaedra will always belong in our family, fractured so often, but never broken." Bob, Jeanne, Fifi, Pixie and Tiger Geldof.
Peaches started her writing career with ELLE UK at the age of 15. She went on to contribute to The Telegraph and The Guardian. She was also a sometime model and was a firm fixture at London’s fashion events. Her last public appearance was at an F&F fashion event in Somerset House, London.
She has two sisters, Fifi Trixibelle Geldof, 31 and Pixie Geldof, 23 and was half-sister to Tiger Lily Hutchence Geldof, 17. Peaches’s last tweet on Monday was of a photograph of her and her mother.
