Ever since Keeping Up The Kardashians stormed the idiot box in 2007, reality shows have been popping up left, right and centre, featuring an 'unscripted' look at celebrities' lives. And now the craze has landed in Malaysia as E! is in the works to produce Malaysia's first locally made mini-series featuring Malaysian actress, Nur Fazura Sharifuddin.

The docudrama titled Facing Up To Fazura is an unscripted show and gives viewers an in-depth look at the Malaysian beauty on and off the film camera. Produced by Matchbox Asia and Karen Wiggins who produced E!'s Filipino series It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez, the five part 30-minutes docudrama begins production in Malaysia this month and is set to air the show in mid-December.

“E! combines the best of Hollywood with the breakout stars from Asia and we are excited to build on our commitment to the local entertainment industry and shine the spotlight on this Malaysian artist and bring her to the global stage,” said Christine Fellowes, Managing Director, Universal Networks International, Asia-Pacific. “E!’s success is driven by the exclusive access to celebrities and ‘Facing up to Fazura’ is a perfect fit for our channel.”

This isn't the first time E! has featured our local celebrities on their channel - the entertainment company has produced local specials including Lisa Surihani, Aaron Aziz and Yuna on their upcoming E! News Asia Special which will premiere on November 25.
