Neil Patrick Harris to host next year's Oscars
Oh, good news today! After this year's hilarious Ellen DeGeneres hosting at the most watched Oscars of the decade, the Academy Awards has announced that Neil Patrick Harris will host next year's 87th annual Academy Awards on February 22 2015.

We are thrilled to have Neil host the Oscars," said producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron in the statement. "We have known him his entire adult life, and we have watched him explode as a great performer in feature films, television and stage. To work with him on the Oscars is the perfect storm, all of his resources and talent coming together on a global stage."

The triple threat actor has hosted the Tony Awards for four years and won a special Emmy award just for his opening performance in last year's Tony Awards. The How I Met Your Mother star also performed an opening number for the Oscars in 2010.

The 41-year-old has taken the opportunity to announce the great news on his Instagram, as celebrities do nowadays:

Taylor Swift's perfect world is also ours
There's not a day goes by without news about Taylor Swift. Just after the release of a song about a fragile relationship (*cough* Harry Styles *cough*), Taytay decided to mend her heart with a roomful of cute fluffy kittens for the new Diet Coke ad. Watch the adorable clip below and spot Taylor's cat, Olivia Benson, at the end:

Besides squee-ing in delight, we also got to hear a snippet of Taylor's unreleased song, Perfect World, from her upcoming album 1989 that will be out on October 27.

Sporty Spice is not happy with Rihanna
Uh-oh, looks like the queen of high pony tails, adidas tracksuits and trainers of the '90s isn't pleased with Barbados princess of all badassery. Sporty Spice aka Melanie C of Spice Girls (Viva Forever) thinks that pop stars nowadays should have "a bit more dignity".

Writing in Radio Times magazine, the mother of a five-year-old wrote,"We need female artists to be authentic. Of course, a 20-something woman has feelings and experiences that she wants to express, but you also have to be mindful of your responsibility to young fans." She even singled out Rihanna by saying, "It's a shame that a talented, successful woman expresses herself in such an overtly sexual way."

Not to sound prissy, but didn't Spice Girls use sexual antics in their music videos as well back in the day? We don’t know about you, we're just waiting for Rihanna's response because she's known for responses to artists calling her out for being "too sexy."

Khloe Kardashian's real father is not Lionel Richie
Speaking of silly accusations, rumours have been circulating around the Kardashian clan that Lionel Richie is Khloe Kardashian's real father. Oh, boy.

The topic was brought up by In Touch magazine on how a source has spilled the beans that Kris Jenner and the Hello singer had an affair back in the 80s, explaining why Khloe looks different from her other Kardashian sisters.

This isn't the first time rumours are claiming Robert Kardashian isn't Khloe's real father. Previously it was O.J. Simpson then Kris' former hairstylist Alex Roldan and now Lionel Richie. Khloe laughed the rumour off to Gossip Cop, "I've had so many dads my head is spinning." Ours too.
