Malaysian entrepreneurs Neelofa and FashionValet's Vivy Yusof are in Manila, Philippines to attend the Forbes Under 30 Summit Asia. Both women are part of the prestigious 30 Under 30 list in the Retail & E-Commerce category and are using this platform to speak about female empowerment.

During a recent panel focusing on businesses founded by women, Neelofa shared what being a feminist means to her.

"Being a Muslim woman, I really believe in gender equality, in equal pay, freedom of choice and all the opportunities the world has to offer. Because we're all created equal – men, women, children, Muslim, Christian, Asian, American and it's not a race between men and women," she said.

The actress also shared a quote that has stuck with her: "Feminism doesn't define women in the world but women in the world define what it means to be feminine or a feminist."

Hear, hear.

Fellow 30 Under 30 honouree Vivy also revealed on Instagram that she spoke on the misconceptions of Muslim women, women empowerment and the hijab during an interview with Forbes Asia, although her interview has not yet been published.

Prior to that, the FashionValet co-founder also did an Instagram takeover for Forbes Asia, sharing a day in her life.

Skype meeting for FashionValet. This handsome hunk next to me? That's my CEO – and oh, I'm married to him too! We always get asked how we can work together as husband and wife, and how we can divide personal and work time. Truth is, there is no divide. Once an entrepreneur, you put your whole heart and soul into it, so you need to find a partner whose goals align with yours. Never make someone a business partner just because they're your loved ones. Always be logical about it and see if goals are aligned and they complement you in what you lack (and vice versa). Lucky for me, I've found the perfect partner in my husband. We argue of course, but one rule I insist on - never go to sleep angry, everything must be resolved first. —@vivyyusof #ForbesTakeover

Keeping in theme with supporting brands established by women, both Neelofa and Vivy wore Malaysian fashion labels like Thavia and Mimpikita throughout the summit. Way to go, ladies!
