Malaysian actress Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh continues to make us proud. Last week, she became the first Malaysian to receive the Officier des Arts et des Lettres award from the French government.

"Michelle has worked with a lot of French directors and actors besides promoting some of the best French brands," said Christophe Penot, French ambassador in Malaysia. "So for all these reasons, the French government wants to pay a tribute to what she has achieved as an actress."

Michelle's husband Datuk Seri Jean Todt and mother Datin Janet Yeoh (pictured below first and second from right respectively) were also present at the ceremony.

This is actually Michelle's second award from France. In 2012, she was bestowed the title of Officer of the Legion of Honour, the highest civilian decoration by France, by former French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

Congratulations, Michelle!
