Meryl Streep dresses up as Donald Trump

For a few scary minutes, there were two Donald Trumps in the world

Here is Meryl Streep, looking like Donald Trump. Now you can say you've seen everything.

You barely need to know what she was doing or WHY she was doing it. The only thing that matters is that Meryl put on a fat suit and a wig, and got a horrible orange tan to look like the Republican presidential nominee. If it gives you nightmares for days, you're not alone.

Terrifying, yet strangely fascinating to watch because, you know, Meryl can do anything. And what she was really doing was singing Brush Up Your Shakespeare from musical Kiss Me, Kate with her Mamma Mia co-star Christine Baranski during the Park Public Theater Gala event at Central Park's Delacorte Theater. The song is typically sung by male performers, who try to quote Shakespeare in order to woo women – here it becomes clear that Meryl was taking a jab at how 'popular' Trump is with women.
