Mary-Kate Olsen married Olivier Sarkozy
The couple has finally made it official
Actress and The Row fashion designer Mary-Kate Olsen, 29, wed Olivier Sarkozy, 46, her BF of three years, at an intimate ceremony in Manhattan on Friday.
Mary-Kate, who has risen through the ranks of fashion and acting after starting out co-playing the adorable Michelle in Full House with twin sister Ashley Olsen, has been engaged to Olivier, half-brother of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, since 2014. She's now changed her Instagram name to Mary-Kate Sarkozy, and announced the wedding below.
The official announcement appeared on the New York Post's Page Six, after the couple quietly tied the knot at a private residence on 49th Street, between Second and Third Avenues. According to reports, cocktails were served in the rear garden to 50 guests, all of whom had to turn in their cellphones before heading indoors for the ceremony. Party décor consisted of bowls of cigarettes which the guests puffed on the whole night.
According to US magazine, the two started dating in 2012, and Mary-Kate originally said no when he proposed in 2013, proving that she has a good head on her shoulders to wait and not rush in. The stats behind their relationship are staggering: they share a US$6.25million (approx. RM26.6m) townhouse in Manhattan and Mary-Kate's Cartier diamond engagement ring is said to have cost a whopping $80,000.
